Welcome to SGI Forensic

SGI Forensic ("SGI") is a firm specializing in forensic accounting which is a litigation support service.

SGI serves California and beyond (subject to local requirements). SGI provides services regionally in Southern California to Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, as well as to other locations in California and beyond.

No forensic accounting firm would be complete without an expert witness. The owner of SGI, Saul Gordon, CPA, CFE, CIA, CA(SA) has testified as an expert witness on a number of occasions. He has testified in both criminal and civil trials and beyond just Orange County where SGI was originally established. He served as the President of the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners ("ACFE") from 2007-2011. The ACFE is the world's largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education. He served as a Director-at-Large for the Inland Empire Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners from 2009-2012. He has also served as the Orange County District Ambassador for the Professional Investigators of California from 2008-2011. Read more about Saul here.

More About Forensic Accounting Services

One definition of "forensic accounting" is accounting that is used in a legal setting. For that reason, it falls under the umbrella of litigation support services. Forensic accounting is often incorrectly referred to as a forensic audit or simply an audit. Forensic accounting is practiced as a specialization by a relatively small number of CPA's. Fraud examinations are often referred to as fraud investigations. Whatever the term used, fraud examinations/fraud investigations fall under the umbrella of forensic accounting services.

What SGI Forensic Does

Generally speaking, if there are questions about where money has gone, questions about how much money is at issue or disputes about money, you should seriously consider contacting SGI.

In its role as a provider of forensic accounting services, SGI can function as one or more of the following: A quantifier, a follower of the trail of the money, a fact-finder and a question-answerer. SGI searches for the truth while delving through hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands of documents, to bring answers and to provide opinions to its clients. SGI can also prepare written reports of its findings, Exhibits for Court and Saul Gordon can testify in Court, at depositions and at other hearings as an expert witness.

SGI provides services in a variety of criminal and civil matters. See SGI's list of services for details of areas such as white collar fraud examinations (e.g. embezzlement and breach of positions of trust), white collar criminal defense, business litigation, loss quantification and more.

It is not uncommon for SGI to be involved in examining both financial and non-financial corroborating data, to consider other not-so-obvious information as well to use other techniques to find the facts.

Besides having a large network of attorneys, private investigators, computer forensics examiners and other investigative professionals, SGI can work with a client's existing team, which may consist of a variety of investigative and non-investigative professionals.
